Solo Day.

After morning meditation we tidied up the orchard and removed the pruned branches to the corner of the garden to prepare for a bonfire for the owners.

Tidying the orchard.

Pruning the orchard.

We then fed the birds and the badgers at the bird hide and practiced some deep reflective breathing, to get beyond the personality, as this is a favourite meditation and can be very beneficial over time if practiced.

Bountiful fruit.

Delicious apples.

We pruned the path to the bird hide. After lunch we decided to try to make an owl nesting box out of an old oak cabinet. Using the time and space philosophy
( co creation, this means no one person in charge of the task all opinions taken on board.) we all agreed on a plan of action and a way of working that has its moments as you can imagine, however this brought us moments of laughter.

Our creation, a home for the young Barn Owl chicks.

Being creative.

We asked Pete and Irene for a suitable tree to place our beautiful creation, and we placed our owl box fully equipped with some straw in a large Sycamore tree against the prevailing wind. After tea we secured the box to the tree and pruned the tree to give the owls a clear flight path to the box. This was a very fulfilling task as we sat by the fire watching dusk draw in listening to the fire crackle and spit; we could here owls all around us in the trees.

Situated in the Sycamore tree. Awaiting new life. Abc giving back to this special place.

Let's hope some owl’s pair up this coming winter and chicks are born in the spring - summer at Lime tree farm as we experienced some weeks ago with 3 beautiful barn owl chicks. We were prepared to stay awake for stargazing however the skies were cloudy but dry and on reflection a perfect Solo Day.

Lunch.

At the end of the day to be sat round the fire at peace with nature listening to the hoots and tweets of the owls. ABC Solo Days.
